Dancing With the Stars star Kym Johnson showed off her stunning engagement ring (and her handsome fiancé, Shark Tank judge Robert Herjavec) as she posed on the red carpet for Elton John‘s AIDS Foundation Oscars 2016 party on Sunday, February 28.
The excited couple literally glowed with happiness as they cuddled up tightly to pose for photographs at West Hollywood Park in Los Angeles, ready to watch the 88th Academy Awards at the annual viewing party.
And having shown off her bling, Johnson and her fiancé were eager to dish to reporters, including Us Weekly, about exactly how the romantic proposal went down.
“We went to the house and I had rose petals going up to the pool,” Herjavec, 53, who started dating Johnson, 39, shortly before season 20 of the hit show in March 2015, told Us. “In the pool was a big swan and on the swan was a box. She pulled the swan in, opened the box, and I said, ‘Actually that’s not for you. That’s for me,'” he continued.
“I opened the box and the ring was inside. And I said, ‘Will you marry me?’ and she started crying and doing crazy sounds,” the TV star said, laughing. “And then I asked again and she started crying and doing crazy songs. And I asked a third time and I was like, ‘OK this is really uncomfortable!'”
“I’m so happy,” a radiant Johnson added. “It was pretty amazing,” she said, grinning.
And the excited couple couldn’t help letting slip that they’ve already picked out a first dance song for their future wedding.
“When we were on the show last year, the week before we got kicked off, they gave us a song. And it was Etta James’ ‘At Last,’” Herjavec explained.
“It was our next dance to do but we got voted out so we never got to do it,” continued Johnson, “so it will be our first dance as husband and wife, I guess.”
Flashing her new bling, the DWTS performer admitted it took her a while to fully take in the reality of the ring when it was presented to her.
“I didn’t even really see the full beauty of the ring because, he could have given me anything, I was just so happy that he proposed to me,” Johnson continued. “But then today, I haven’t been able to stop looking at it,” she said.
It’s early days for the couple’s wedding planning, but they’ve already made some decisions about their big day, and are pretty sure they’ll just host one in America, and fly Johnson’s family in from Australia for the occasion.

“We’ll bring everyone here,” Johnson told Us. “We might go back to Australia and do a big party there with all my friends, and that one will probably be pretty wild, you know Aussies get crazy. [But] now I get to have fun and stop planning a wedding. It’s great!”
